STEM COORDINATOR
Are you seeking a fast-paced and innovative teaching environment using the latest brain research to guide practices? East Cooper Montessori Charter School seeks a part-time or full-time STEM  Coordinator to support Montessori pedagogy, Montessori educators and Montessori students in developing and executing STEM curriculum in Grades 1st-8th. The position is a lab school approach to writing, developing and implementing curriculum in a STEM area of Montessori practices. The educator will spend part of the time researching and developing and the other part is teaching and assessing successes.


The staff member will:
-work with Montessori professionals to create and develop a full complement of STEM materials to implement throughout grades 1-8
-develop, organize, and promote interdisciplinary STEM activities through an authentic, problem-based curriculum experiences in a Montessori setting
-collaborate with teachers integrating technology and problem-solving to promote learning and joyful experiences in STEM

The ideal candidate will:
-have professional teaching experience
-enjoy both teaching and developing original curriculum content in the area of STEM
-have experience conducting professional development
-have excellent written and communication skills
-be a creative thinker
-enjoy the art of engineering

A bachelor's degree in science or related field is required and a master's degree in teaching is preferable. Technical skills in computer applications also preferred.  Compensation and salary based on experience and expertise in the field education.Benefits include state health insurance plan.

UPPER ELEMENTARY TEACHER

ECMCS is seeking a full time Montessori Upper Elementary (grades 4-6) Lead teacher. Responsibilities include planning, leading, and implementing the Montessori curriculum with the assistance of a teacher assistant, supporting parents and students, participating in the culture of the school community, and networking and collaborating during Montessori Professional Development opportunities in the area. Candidates without a Montessori Certification will still be considered if they demonstrate a strong knowledge of state curriculum and child development.

ECMCS serves 350 PK3-8th grade students in a creative, engaging and warm Montessori environment. The school is a wonderful success story where the partnership between educators, students and families is incredibly supportive. ASSISTANT TEACHER

East Cooper Montessori Charter School (ECMCS) is seeking a full-time assistant elementary teacher. The ideal candidate is a great communicator with both children and adults, organized, and willing to go the extra mile for the efforts of the school's mission.  College degree required and experience teaching children preferred.  Hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30-4:00pm.

SPANISH TEACHER

East Cooper Montessori Charter School (ECMCS) is now hiring for the 2016-2017 school year.

We are seeking a part-time Spanish instructor to work with students in grades 1st-8th. Special area teachers bring with them an in-depth knowledge of their craft as well as an excitement for helping students reach their potential. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator with both children and adults, organized and willing to go the extra mile for the efforts of the school's mission.
Duties:
* Lesson planning, instruction and assessment of students in 3 different linguistic programs -- FLEC Spanish for grades 1 to 3 -- one hour per week; FLES -- beginner level for grades 4 to 6 -- two hours per week; and Spanish I -- High School credits for grades 7 & 8 -- three times per week.
* Plans exciting and engaging instructional experiences that support the National standards and Montessori curriculum.
* Seeks to incorporate the Montessori philosophy in planning.
* Presents and reinforces concepts by helping students, individually and in groups, with lesson assignments.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in Montessori educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
* Enhances school's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
