2017-2018 Annual Fund Campaign

The Annual Fund, along with our two annual fundraisers, is the primary revenue source allowing ECMCS to offer the private school caliber of education we appreciate.

The Annual Fund goal for this year is $65,000.

Here are some of the amazing programs our Annual Fund budget includes this school year:

  • Media Center- Interactive Media Wall and New Furniture - Transforming our media center into a comfortable learning lab with new literacy materials, gifted and talented resources and curriculum enhancements.   $30K

  • SeaPerch:  Building underwater, remotely operated vehicles - fostering teamwork, exploring naval architecture and marine engineering principles.  $2K

  • Educational Passages: Constructing and launching a series of five-foot mini boats to follow along ocean currents using GPS - learning oceanography, geography, environmental science, geology, climatology, meteorology, biology, international relations, public policy, and map reading. $2300

  • Monthly STEM projects - challenging the minds of our lower elementary.

  • Lowcountry Maritime Society Boat Building - 9 to 18 weeks of adolescent “specials” class -   using engineering, buoyancy, fractions, measurement, geometry, problem-solving/critical thinking, tool use and blueprint reading with the goal of launching student-built boats.  $5K - $8K

In addition to our Annual Fund campaign, we have two major fundraisers: the World Fair / Fall Festival and our Spring Auction.  Last year, these events raised an additional $44K for ECMCS, bringing in the total $100K our school requires, each year, to function as the innovative learning institution we want and expect it to be.  And so we begin...feathering our nest.

What do you say, you ECMCS parents?  Are you in or are you IN?

Sincerely yours,

Becky Connelly, Development Committee Chair
ECMCS Board of Directors, Parent Member
