Coordinator / Exceptional Educator - Kimberly Batts

Ms. Kimberly is a Lowcountry native and brings over 25 years teaching experience from preschool to the college level. She taught in North Carolina for over 12 years in preschool disabilities and was Community Program Head for the Early Childhood Department at Lenoir Community College. She has been back in the East Cooper area since 2003 and has taught at Belle Hall, Pinckney, and James B. Edwards in different roles all pertaining to special education. She holds a Master’s degree from East Carolina University and obtained her National Board Certification in 2011 as an Exceptional Needs Specialist. She has additional training in Autism, Learning Disabilities, Physical and Visual Impairments, Behavioral Interventions, Progress Monitoring, and Mentor Training She is very involved in the community, a member of the Exchange Club, and presently serves as a board member for the Lowcountry Autism Foundation – MUSC. She is the proud mother of her son, Robert, who is attending a local college, and is very involved with Charleston County Rescue. When not at school you can find Kimberly enjoying time with family and friends, at the beach, fishing, reading, or walking.
