ANNA CHANDLER
Adolescent Program English Language Arts and Science Teacher

After many wonderful traditional teaching experiences, Ms. Anna found her home as a Montessori educator.  Ms. Anna holds a degree in History from the College of Charleston and a Master's degree in Education from Columbia College.  She is certified in Middle School Mathematics, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies.  Ms. Anna is National Board Certified in Early Adolescent Science, is a certified Montessori Adolescent educator, and has Gifted and Talented endorsement.  Ms. Anna was a 2009 state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching and served as secretary for the Palmetto State Teachers Association.  She enjoys exploring the natural world and learning along with her students.  In addition to her love of Science, Ms. Anna is interested in History and Genealogy.  She lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband and sons.


KRISTIN GARNER
Adolescent Program Teacher

Kristin moved to Charleston in 2006 after falling in love with the city while on vacation. She has taught high school Chemistry, Physical Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Environmental Science, and Algebra 1. She has her Masters Degree in Education from the University of Connecticut, her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Gifted and Talented Certification, and 11 years of teaching experience. She has taught at Stall High School, Bishop England, and Summerville High School. She has also enjoyed coaching all age groups of swimming for over 15 years. After getting to know ECMCS she was instantly motivated to make the switch from a traditional model of education. She cannot be more excited to be starting this new chapter in her life with East Cooper Montessori.


ELIZA HARDMAN
Adolescent Algebra Teacher

Ms. Eliza is a native South Carolinian who earned degrees in Mathematics and Studio Art from the College of Charleston before beginning her teaching career. She spent three years in New York City where she earned her Master's in Art Education from NYU and worked in the New York City Public School System.  


ZAC VISCIDI
Adolescent Program Teacher

Originally from Wellesley, Massachusetts, Mr. Zac has embraced the South as his adopted home.  In 2010, he graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelors of Science. A dedicated lifelong learner, he recently re-enrolled at his alma mater to begin working on a Masters in Teaching, Learning and Advocacy.   His passion for learning is only outstripped by his enjoyment of pedagogy.  Mr. Zac loves creating challenging and innovative lessons for students to surmount.  He is certified in Middle Grades English and Social Studies, but he is happy to spread his penchant for learning across all subjects.  Mr. Zac and his wife of one year, Brielle, live in Wagner Terrace.   In addition to his love of learning, Mr. Zac loves bicycling, entrepreneurship, and eating.
