SLAYDEN THOMAS
Upper Elementary Lead Teacher

Ms. Slayden is a recent graduate of the College of Charleston with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Sociology.  At CofC she enjoyed the work of being a Teaching Fellow Scholar serving as both a secretary and vice chair.  Ms. Slayden brings with her student teaching experiences in 4th, 3rd and 6th grades plus numerous other experiences as a summer camp counselor.

TARA CREWE
Upper Elementary Lead Teacher

Ms. Tara grew up near Pittsburgh, PA and hopes to never shovel snow again. She has spent most of the last 18 years living in the southeast and, while she adores the heat, humidity, and amazing sunset views of the Lowcountry, she loves to travel. Ms. Tara has visited 17 of the 60 National Parks and hopes to make it to all of them someday, filling up her NPS Passport along the way. She enjoys hiking, camping, practicing yoga, quilting, cooking, singing, and spending time with her dog, Maggy Maye. Her teacher preparation includes degrees from Clemson (Go Tigers!) and the University of South Carolina as well as Montessori training through Seacoast Center. She has taught for over 12 years in Georgia, South Carolina, and Oregon and thrives on catching up with her former students. She and her current students are most likely to be caught learning with their hands, diverting trash from landfills, and laughing.

ALYCIA DINKINS

Upper Elementary Assistant Teacher

Alycia moved to Charleston in 2002 after graduating from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Business Administration. After spending over a decade in the financial services industry in various leadership and advisory roles, she decided to focus on her growing family. After spending a few years at home she was ready to return to the workforce but was seeking a different direction. Her strong desire to help others, achieve personal goals, build strong relationships and stay connected to the school community all led her to ECMCS. She lives in Mt. Pleasant with her husband, Will, and their four children—Wright, Kate, Bennett and Bowen. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, riding bikes and hanging at the beach or pool.
