Melissa Brandt

Stephanie Forsythe

Upper Elementary Lead Teacher

Ms. Melissa is a Maryland native who has lived in Charleston for the past twelve years. She earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and a Master's Degree from The Citadel, focusing on reading education. Ms. Melissa has taught throughout Charleston County for the past 12 years. After searching for new teaching styles and methods to develop student mindfulness and compassion, she was drawn to the Montessori philosophy. Ms. Melissa enjoys traveling, reading, yoga and spending time at the beach with her husband and son.

Upper Elementary Assistant Teacher

Ms. Stephanie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and became fascinated with the Montessori Method while researching schooling options for her young son. She previously lived and worked in Philadelphia as an executive assistant and moved to the Charleston area in 2012 with her husband Keith. Her son Jackson has been enrolled at Sundrops Montessori School since 2014 and inspired her to pursue teaching full-time. She worked as a substitute teacher throughout the Charleston County school district in both traditional and Montessori environments – eventually finding the greatest joy guiding students in mixed-aged classrooms here at ECMCS.

Stephanie lives with her husband and son in West Ashley and is active in the local arts community. She is a company member at Theatre 99 – Charleston’s home for improvisational comedy. In her free time, you can find her on the beach with her family, enjoying the culinary delights of the downtown, and playing in the park with her son.
